In the US, Samsung launched its own music platform called Milk. Online since March 2014, this service only available on certain mobile and Samsung tablets, is supported by a US specialist thematic radios, Slacker (a partnership that looks exactly like the one signed by Sony Music and Spotify Playstation). The Milk Music service, which combines a pay offer ($ 4 per month) and offers a free (ad-supported), is declining so far in video format, Milk Video. But it will soon cease.
Closure in two months
Indeed, on 20 November, in two short months, Milk Video will be closed by the Korean giant. In a short message to these users available on the Play Store, the automaker simply confirms the date and refers users to Milk Music. All without real explanation. But we suspect that this is primarily a problem of hearing and therefore a loss of interest for advertisers who supported the initiative financially.
Milk Video was free streaming platform, only accessible on Galaxy S3, S4, S4 Mini, S5, S5 Mini, S5 Active, S5 Sport, S6, Edge S6, Edge + S6, S6 Active, Note 2, Note 3 , Note 4, Note 5, Note Edge, Mega, Tab 4, Tab and Tab S Pro. Therefore exclusive to the US, this application was substituted to some extent for YouTube users and advertisers broadcast content that consumers share and repartageaient. The system is based on brands, broadcasters (College Humor, Vanity Fair, Buzzfeed, Vice, Red Bull, Vogue, GQ, etc.) and users that can be followed in order to be notified when new content is available. And application wants to be more intuitive and more qualitative than competition, especially visually.
